Control Your Pain, Live Your Life

Treat Pain of Peripheral Nerve Origin with StimRouter

The peripheral nervous system is a network of nerves that connects the brain and spinal cord to the entire human body. Damage to these nerves due to surgery or other trauma can cause chronic, debilitating pain. Traditional therapies such as TENS, injected nerve blocks, and ablation typically only offer temporary relief. Spinal cord stimulators require complex surgeries with periodic battery replacement. And prescription medications come with side effects and risk of addiction.

StimRouter is a groundbreaking technology that reduces pain by delivering gentle electrical pulses directly to the peripheral nerve to disrupt pain signals before they reach the brain. By targeting pain at its source, many users benefit from significant, lasting pain reduction – via a single, 30-minute outpatient procedure and subsequent programming appointment.

Examples of peripheral nerve pain applicable to StimRouter

  • Post-surgery pain (knee, back, etc.)
  • Post-stroke shoulder pain
  • Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS)
  • Amputation pain
  • Neuromas
  • Neuralgia (excluding cranial facial)
  • Carpal Tunnel

Target Pain at its Source

Wrist Pain
Meet Felicia
"I knew it would do something and alleviate some of the pain. I didn't realize it would work as much and as fast as it has."

Foot Pain
Meet Arielle
"Once it was turned on, I stood up in my doctor's office and the pain was gone. I was standing barefoot in the office and it wasn't hurting anymore. And it was like a light bulb turned on. 'Oh my God, I don't have pain anymore' - something I waited 10 years to finally feel. It was incredible."

Back Pain
Meet Kaye
"I was surprised as to how well the StimRouter worked. It was a life-saver. When you're an active person like I am and all of a sudden your body doesn't work and you're in constant pain, it's very tough. Now, I don't have pain anymore."

Post-Stroke Shoulder Pain
Meet Lucina
"It was amazing. When the doctor turned it on, the pain went away and now all I feel is a slight tingling from my shoulder. Now I can move my arm, lift it, and do exercises with the help of my therapist and the pain is totally gone."

Results
  • StimRouter delivers low-level electrical pulses directly to the site of peripheral nerve pain via a thread-like ‘lead’ that is implanted below the skin. These pulses ‘block’ pain signals before they reach the brain.
  • The minimally-invasive procedure is completed using local, numbing anesthesia – during an outpatient procedure that typically takes less than 30 minutes. Two weeks later, a small, externally-worn patch is programmed to activate the stimulation with custom programs designed to modulate your pain. The patch can be removed when not in use.
  • By targeting pain at its source, StimRouter puts you back in control.

The StimRouter Neuromodulation System’s sleek design and user-friendliness empowers patients to have complete control over their pain management and get back to the activities they love.

  • Select from multiple, pre-set stimulation programs with the push of a button.
  • Low-profile, externally-worn transmitter that can be easily recharged at home.
  • One-time, minimally-invasive lead placement as a long-term therapy solution.
  • The StimRouter lead is MR conditional so patients can still undergo an MRI scan.

Pain can be a significant roadblock to your physical rehabilitation and inhibit your daily activities.

  • Studies show that as many as 85% of stroke survivors will develop shoulder pain.1
  • Stimulation of the axillary nerve in the shoulder has been observed as an effective approach in reducing shoulder pain.2
  • Current interventions for post-stroke shoulder pain are limited and short-term focused.
  • Unlike oral pain medications that circulate throughout your entire body, StimRouter targets the precise area where you are feeling pain without the common prescription side effects.
  • Current therapies- opioids, nerve injections, slings/support mechanisms- have limited effect and are not sustainable long-term.
  • StimRouter does not have to be a permanent therapy- the small lead may be removed if you decide to pursue a different treatment.

StimRouter demonstrated safety and efficacy in treating neuropathic pain of peripheral nerve origin during a 12 month study of 94 patients with FDA oversight.3
